Plant Medicine Workshop

Join Teresa and Corryn for a weekend wānanga exploring plant medicine making. This unique workshop is a collaboration that brings together 20-years of combined knowledge and experience working with traditional medicine and native plant essences. This wānanga will be set amongst gardens and bush next to the Timaru Awa (Stream) in Tataraimaka, Taranaki.

You will learn:
🌿 How to communicate with plants
🌿 Protocols on harvesting Rongoā (medicine)
🌿 How to utilise plants from the garden and the bush
🌿 How to use plants for emotional and spiritual wellbeing

You will leave with:
🌿 A variety of different medicines including tinctures, balms, oils, elixirs and flower essence remedies.
🌿 Empowering knowledge to a help you and your whanau/family to heal common ailments.

About the facilitators:

Corryn Pryce-Baxter was born in Wales and started her journey at a young age with plants and Spirit learning from her Grandmother. Since coming to Aotearoa in 2001 she has been working with a range of Rongoā including meditation, shamanic journeying, acupressure, Mirimiri and Romiromi (traditional massage) and herbal medicine. For the past 12 years Corryn has been working with traditional Māori Rongoā which she learn from her mother-in-law Kuia Olive Bullock and her sister Kuia Sue Jones from Nukumaru. Corryn has also worked as an anthropologist specialising in the empowerment of indigenous woman through economic development, a rehabilitation facilitator in the justice sector and currently working in Taranaki with community organisations helping them to flourish.

Teresa Goodin was born and raised in Taranaki. For the past ten years she has explored and studied various pathways to wellbeing and wholeness including Naturopathy, Flower Essence Therapy, Psychosynthesis, Shamanic Healing, Buddhist Meditation and Jin Shin TARA. She is a First Light Flower Essences of New Zealand Practitioner and specialises in New Zealand Native Flower Essence Therapy to promote holistic wellbeing. She has been studying with the Medicine Woman Centre for Shamanic and Esoteric Studies since 2011, which has included working intensively with New Zealand native teacher plants and alchemical elixirs as a spiritual pathway. She is currently President of VENZ (Vibrational Essences New Zealand Incorporated), the professional body for flower essence practitioners in New Zealand.

When: Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th April, 10am-4pm (please arrive at 9.45am for a 10am start)

Cost: $180 (includes all materials, morning and afternoon tea) Please bring shared kai for lunch on Saturday and Sunday. $60 non-refundable deposit to secure your place. Twelve maximum participants and unless we get 6 participants we will reschedule the workshop. Payment by cash, bank transfer, eftpos or credit card.
